Spread spectrum high bit rate satellite links AMS has been involved in the design of a VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) for satellite communications in the Ku band. Specifically AMS has been contributed to the RF
front-end design of the ground terminal. The terminal can support high bit rates of communication up to 2Mb/s. Spread spectrum techniques have also been employed in order to support secure and jamming resistive
communications. The RF front end is comprised from a very low noise amplifier (NF<1dB), a linear power amplifier (Pout>8Watts), a PLL
sub-system and frequency converters for the uplink and downlink. Custom VSAT Ku band DS-Spread Spectrum 2Mb/s RF front-end.
Extensive use of multilayered printed circuit board hybrid low cost technology. Used for both civilian and military communication links. Potential upgrade to higher bit rates.
